Application
Flameproof transformers, type FPT are intended for use in areas made potentially hazardous by the presence of flammable liquids, gases or vapours (Zone 1 or Zone 2).
For installation at petroleum refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants and other process industries where a similar hazard exists.

Material
Body and cover    Standard: Copper free aluminium alloy LM25 (BS 1490)
                               Optional: Cast iron ISO 185:1998

Cover Bolts          Standard: Steel zinc plated.
                               Optional : Stainless steel.

Finish
Standard: Two coat of Gray oven baked.
Optional : Two pack epoxy paint, or electrostatic powder coated.

Protection Grade
IP 54 - Application of an approved non-hardening grease will give added resistance to the ingress of dust and moisture.

Thread forms available are ISO metric 965.1 with 1.5 mm pitch,
NPT ANSI B1.20.1, ISO 228.1 (G), or DIN 40430 (PG)

Mounting brackets and screws. Stainless steel bolts. Expoy paint or electrostatic powder coated.
Cast Iron body and cover.

Earthing
All enclosures are supplied complete with a 6 mm2 internal and external earth stud as standard.

Mounting
For EJB enclosures, mounting is by four blind holes drilled and tapped in back of enclosure. For GUB enclosures mounting holes are part of enclosure. Mounting brackets are also available as an optional extra, see 'Options'.

Transformer Rating 
A range of flameproof transformers from 100 VA upto 3000 VA all with fused primary and secondary
windings, earth screens fitted as standard.
Table below shows different transformers VA ratings.
